The Foil Swing Generator uses a hydrofoil in an ocean current in order to create lift. This lift forces equals the buoyancy forces of the air compartment inside the foil. An air compressing unit, such as a piston or a bladder is then been pressurized by the surrounding hydrodynamic pressure. By controlling the angle of attach the foil is moving up and down in the water column, and thereby collecting the energy from the ocean current into compressed air. The technology is patented and tested at NTNU. Coriolis is owned by Engervik Technology AS.
