Preikestolen (the Pulpit Rock), the most famous tourist attraction in Ryfylke, towers an impressive 604 metres over the Lysefjord. Looking out over the Lysefjord from the Pulpit Rock (also known as Preikestolen) is an experience of a lifetime. The six kilometre hike starts at the mountain lodge Preikestolen Fjellstue. Allow a total of four hours for this moderately demanding roundtrip that ascends 350 metres.
