Setesdalsbanen is a narrow-gauge (1,067 mm) museum railway that runs on the 8 kilometer long, wild and scenic stretch between Grovane and Røyknes stations in Vennesla municipality, Vest-Agder county.
The line was opened in 1896 between Kristiansand and Byglandsfjord. Only 2 years after the closure in 1962, Norway's first museum railway opened. Since then, you have been able to experience a living museum, with over 100-year-old steam locomotives, stylish wooden carriages, venerable station buildings and the smell of coal.
